Online course with virtual robots
The City of West Torrens decided that Thebarton Community Centre will close until further notice, along with other libraries and centres in Adelaide.
Therefore, rather than relocating the course to another venue where some students would be unable to attend due to distance or concerns from their parents regarding COVID-19, we decided to transition the classes to an online environment.
We keep the same schedule (days and time). We use Zoom for real-time communication. We continue to use the Carnegie Mellon University (CS2N) website for learning. However, the most exciting addition to our curriculum is the introduction of virtual robots. We tested the virtual robots, and the students’ unanimous opinion was that they loved it. Please watch the video below for more information.
For the moment, the online course is, in many ways, better than face-to-face meetings. First of all, it’s safer. Then it saves you time on driving and waiting. Lastly, it provides other students who couldn’t attend the class due to distance a chance to join our Academy.
