Yes. Students can join our Robotics Course at any time during the school term. There is no need to wait until the beginning of the next term.
Our Robotics Course uses a project-based learning approach and is based on the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Academy curriculum. Unlike a traditional course where all students begin the same lesson in Week 1 and progress through the same material together, each student works through a structured sequence of robotics projects, activities and challenges at their own pace.
The complete program includes approximately 100 activities, challenges and robotics missions and usually takes around one year to complete. A new student always begins with the introductory activities, regardless of which week of the school term they join, and then progresses through the program from there.
This means that a student joining in Week 4, for example, has not “missed” the first three weeks of the course. They simply begin their Robotics journey in Week 4 and continue from where they left off in the following term.
We use South Australian school terms primarily for enrolment and booking purposes. Terms do not divide the Robotics Course into separate learning units, and the course does not restart from the beginning each term.
In short: students can start at any time, progress at their own pace, and continue their learning across school terms until they complete the program.
